QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION

For the expansion of our cucumber breeding activities for the Middle East and Mediterranean hemisphere we are looking in Turkey for an enthusiastic and creative
CUCUMBER BREEDER, stationed in Serik, Antalya
You have an university degree with preferably a master degree at agricultural engineering. Knowledge of breeding and affinity with phytopathology and marker technology is a pre. Experience in the field of cucumber breeding will be an important asset. As breeder you are tenacious and precise and have an aim for a practical approach. You are self-motivated and have a talent to work independent and organize your own activities. As member of our team you have a good level of team collaboration skills. Furthermore you have a good command of writing and speaking English and a good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. To fulfil this position travelling abroad is required.
Please be aware that military service should be completed for male candidates.

We offer you an interesting position as a breeder in our growing organization Bejo Tohumculuk Araştırma Geliştirme Dış Ticaret Limited Şirketi.
Your main activities as breeder are to organize and evaluate cucumber trials and select material. Most important aspect for evaluations are plant growth and behavior, fruit setting and fruit quality features. Measuring fruit production also belongs to these activities. Beside this, an important part of your job is to exchange information with the team of sales representatives and to be in contact with local growers. In order to advance our position with market appropriate varieties it is important that you are innovative.
As a breeder you are member of the cucumber breeding team and cover the Middle East / Mediterranean markets. You will have extensive contact with your colleagues in the Netherlands and abroad. Under the authority of the crop research manager, all information has to be analyzed with the cucumber breeding team. Digital data recording of the results in software applications is part of your activities.
