Mechanical Research and Development Engineer

Howdy! We are 3BFab, a leading manufacturer of 3D printers and photopolymer resins for production. Established in 2013, we have been at the forefront of the 3D printing industry and have developed a broad range of jewelry and dental production resins under our brand PowerResins. In 2017, we created Turkey's first 3D printing and materials R&D center, where we continue to innovate and improve our products. We are looking for a Mechanical Research and Development Engineer who is passionate about 3D printing, has an out-ofthe-box thinking ability, and isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves and get their hands dirty (don't worry, we provide gloves). As part of our Research and Development team, you'll be working with a group of engineers and scientists to develop and optimize our resin 3D printers. Responsibilities:

• Develop and optimize mechanical components for our 3D printers (no need to bring your toolbox, we have all the equipment you need!). 
• Conduct research and development activities to improve the performance and reliability of our printers (Okay, we'll provide you with plenty of coffee to keep you going).
• Design and conduct experiments to test and validate new designs and processes (we won't judge if you wear a lab coat and safety goggles).
•  Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, software engineers, and materials scientists (don't worry, generally they won't bite). 
• Create and maintain engineering documentation, including drawings, specifications, and test reports. 
• Participate in the design review process and provide feedback on design concepts and solutions (we welcome constructive criticism). 
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies in resin 3D printing (we promise to provide you with plenty of reading material and ideas).

Qualifications: 

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechatronic Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related field. 
• 3+ years of experience in mechanical design and development, preferably in the field of 3D printing or additive manufacturing. 
• 3-5 years of experience in mechanical design and development, preferably in research and development field, with a demonstrated ability to develop new products from idea to launch. (experience in the field of 3D printing or additive manufacturing is a plus).
• Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, including mechanics, and materials science. 
• Proficiency in CAD software, preferably Fusion 360 and Inventor (bonus points if you can make it dance).
• Experience with FEA and simulation software, preferably ANSYS (we're impressed if you can explain it to us in plain English or Turkish). 
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills (we hope you can fix our office coffee machine). 
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills (no hiding behind the computer screen, we like to talk face-to-face).
• Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as in a team environment (we like independent thinkers, but also team players). 
• Experience with materials such as aluminum, steel, and plastics is a plus (we won't judge if you have a secret love for plastic).
• Experience with production techniques such as CNC milling, routing, vacuum forming, plastic injection is a plus.
