Special Processes Quality Supervisor

We are looking for a 'Special Processes Quality Supervisor' for our company which produces aircraft engine parts in Aegean Free Zone, Izmir.

Role Overview

This position supervises a team of engineers and hourly/direct employees in Special Process Quality Inspection. The main responsibility is to ensure the customer requirements are fully satisfied for products going through the special processes. Manages the team of special process quality engineers and non-destructive test (FPI, X-Ray, MPI) inspection technicians, the metallurgical laboratory, balances technician workload, assists in establishing inspection/test specifications, and conducts and writes tests and inspection reports.

What We Are Looking For?

• Min. Bachelor’s degree in Material and Metallurgical Engineering,
• Min. 8 years experience in special processes technical area, (+3 years management experience),
• Experience with Aerospace OEMs, Suppliers, and/or customers is a plus,
• Hands-on experience in special process quality assurance activities in heat treatment, chemical coating, welding, pressure tests, preferably in plasma coating,
• Hands-on experience in metallurgical lab tests and analysis,
• Level-2 certification in accordance with NAS-410 (or equivalent) for FPI and/or X-Ray and/or MPI is an asset,
• Good level of English (reading, writing, speaking),
• Experience with AS9100 requirements and NADCAP audits,
• Must be able to delegate and assign task in accordance with the business needs of quality,
• Must be completely trustworthy, transparent, and open to change management,
• Knowledge of deploying lean principal tools is plus.

Responsibilities

• Plans and supervises daily activities of special process quality Engineers and inspection technicians to ensure adherence to established department, organization, and customer specification parameters,
• Manages the NDT inspection Level-2 inspectors in FPI, X-Ray, MPI and Plasma Coating, coordinate with Level-3 inspectors,
• Manages the metallurgical laboratory capable of hardness and tensile tests, micro/macro structure analysis, manages the yearly correlation tests with accredited laboratories,
• Ensures that special processes fully satisfy the customer requirements and specifications,
• Takes part in the NADCAP audit preparations in special processes areas,
• Takes part in new part quotation activities, and prepares special process quality workload and investment needs,
• Coordinates with customer material control representative to fulfill all needs,
• Controls the First Article Inspection (FAI) parts in terms of customer special process requirements,
• Manages the inspection plans and balances inspector workloads to ensure effective use of resources,
• Assists in the maintenance of inspection logs and writing inspection reports to document results related to performance and problems of Inspection/Test Equipment,
• Assists in establishing/approving inspection and testing specifications and procedures to ensure quality standards are met,
• Prepare and follow the special process quality unit yearly budget,
• Follow and improve his/her team’s performance, manage training and improvement needs.
