QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION

Set along the dazzling Bosphorus waterfront in the historic district of Karaköy, The Peninsula Istanbul provides a showcase for both vibrant Turkish culture and superlative hospitality within Galataport, a new waterfront revitalisation project. The hotel is comprised of four exquisite buildings – three of them historic and beautifully restored – and welcomes guests arriving by land or sea.

 Key accountabilities 
  • To perform a friendly yet discreet and unobtrusive service in greeting, seating and waiting on all guests.
  • To ensure consistency when creating a new guest profile. Ensure all guest information correctly entered in to TMS (Table Management System)
  • To understand all food and beverage menus and operating hours of each restaurant and weekly check on restaurant information on social platforms for allocated restaurant. (Sevenrooms, Instagram etc.)
  • To utilize the POS system as per policies and procedure in place to find existing guest profiles.
  • To observe and maintain daily condition of all physical facilities and equipment in the restaurant, public area and make recommendations for corrections and improvement as needed.
  • Manage the flow of Guests into the Dining and Bar areas, provide accurate wait times to incoming Guests if appropriate.
  • Overlook on Guest Database Management and prepare weekly Report for management as required.


 General requirements 
  • Knowledge of using the restaurant reservation systems e.g. Opentable, 7Rooms.
  • Good organization skills & time management.
  • Good hands-on service.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a Food & Beverage outlet with similar standards and expectations (Hotel based or Standalone).
  • Degree or Diploma in hotel management. 
  • Understanding of food and beverage knowledge.
  • Caring for team and guests and excellent communication skills.
